Spending Resources

Spending Resources is one of the primary objectives in the game. If you have a bunch of unspent resources there is normally a few causes.

  • You are not producing units when you have idle larva. If you are not maxed you really shouldn't have idle larva
  • You are getting supply blocked too much
  • You do not have enough larva, this is caused by not injecting. If you are having a hard time injecting add on extra hatches.

Not constantly producing workers

SC2 is a macro game, and the most important part of the game IS producing workers. Work on making sure you build a couple workers per larva inject cycle (if you are having to produce units) if you are not producing units ALL your larva should be workers. Stop producing workers after you have 68-73

Protecting the Mineral Lines (Losing too many workers)

You worked so hard to produce your workers, now let’s work on protecting them! As a zerg player the best ways to defend your mineral line is with queens, spores and spines. Make sure that as you progress into the mid and late game that you have built a spore and spine at every base. Doing so will make it so you will have enough time to run your army back and protect the workers.

Work on expanding faster

Expanding in SC2 is very important, if you do not build a solid economy up you will lose to an opponent that has a better economy. Think about expanding around the time you are fully saturated on one base (16 workers), and always make sure you keep expanding past 3 bases so that once you make it to 3 base saturation you keep it going as long as possible.

You are not making enough army fast enough

You are being too greedy, work on producing a few units out of your larva as you are droning up. Make sure you won't die to any timing attack.
