Before you start reading this; put on your most epic and motivational music to set the right mood. If you don’t have any on hand, try We’ll Never Stop or Anthem of the World.
What motivates you to play Starcraft?
Is it reaching the next league — Diamond, Masters, or maybe GM?
Is it the rewarding feeling when you put your mental stamina, speed, and strategy against your opponent and beat him with sheer skill?
Is it simply the joy of self-improvement — of refining your play, mastering a new strategy, and facing the puzzle that each game presents?
Whatever it is — improving, winning, or just having fun — the ladder challenge will help you by giving you the motivation to stick to a regular laddering schedule. The Ladder Challenge tracks your progress and ranks you based on your number of ranked 1v1 games played, with 7 ranks — from 5 games a week to 50. It will also show your overall level achieved across all weeks. It compares you with everyone else who signed up, giving you a goal and motivation to compete.
You will be surprised how easy it is to surpass your previous accomplishments if you just stick to a regular schedule. It will keep your skill from decaying due to breaks and increase your ladder rank significantly from playing so many more games.
You will crush your foes; achieving your long-sought promotion and fulfilling your thirst to refine your skills. You’ll dominate your hopeless foes and achieve your highest season finish; overcoming your ladder anxiety, your sloth, and your lack of motivation.
The rich stats that the website offers will help pinpoint the holes in your play, pushing your game up to the next level. At the end of the season, all of your effort and hard work will feel truly rewarding as you look back and see how far you have risen in just one season.
You will rank up. You will improve.
And you will succeed.
Sign up for the 2014 season 2 ranked 1v1 ladder challenge now!
Once you’ve signed up, all you have to do is upload your 1v1 ranked ladder games as soon as you play them; and Sc2ReplayStats will take care of the rest. To make things easier, Sc2ReplayStats offers a free tool for automatically uploading replays.
Having a regular schedule has lots of benefits: it helps you fit SC2 in your schedule if you are busy, it can motivate you by giving you a target goal and playing consistently instead of sporadically helps you improve.
As it is a public community challenge, your progress is displayed publicly and compared to everyone else’s — but we also recommend finding a personal friend or accountability buddy to participate with you. Then both of you can nag each other to keep at it, so you don’t fall behind! If you don’t have a friend willing to participate with you, you can find one in the Ladder Challenge group within SC2. Just search for “Ladder Challenge” in the groups system in-game, or use this link: starcraft://group/1/190034
We’re making some changes from the previous ladder challenge. There are seven levels of difficulty, ranging from five to fifty games a week:
- Level 1: 5 per week
- Level 2: 10 per week
- Level 3: 15 per week
- Level 4: 20 per week
- Level 5: 30 per week
- Level 6: 40 per week
- Level 7: 50 per week
You will be graded on a week-by-week basis, as well as an overall average. If you don’t qualify for level 1, you will show up under the “slacker” category — but hopefully you can afford to play one game a day five days of the week!
Secondly, we’re now offering weekly prizes. If you meet the weekly raffle qualifications, you have a chance to win one of our upcoming prizes, like Sc2ReplayStats Elite Membership and coaching from GM players of each race. For the first week, if you play 20 games you will be entered into the raffle for Sc2ReplayStats.com Elite Membership!
Stay tuned to the Sc2ReplayStats.com blog for information about future opportunities, like a chance to get your replays casted or rewards for the most active clan.
We hope you will enjoy the second Sc2ReplayStats ladder challenge, and good luck!
